One Year With Juvenile Diabetes

My daughter Cassie, was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes when she was three. With the help of my wonderful friend and photographer, Juan Delgado of Hera Studios, we collaborated to create this powerful image of Cass seated in the center of one years worth of her needles, finger sticking lancets and test strips. We are proud that Cassie has been chosen as this years "face of diabetes" for the JDRF's 2010 Spring walk. We will be putting together a new team "Cassie's Cure" to help raise money next year so be on the lookout or come join or walk team!

Elite Bridal networking event Miami

I was happy to attend another Elite bridal networking event with the best of South Florida's wedding and event vendors at the beautiful Alfred Dupont building in downtown Miami. These photos were done by the talented Ela Raveling for Neoart and really show off the art deco architecture of this historic Miami gem as well as the amazing lighting set up by Uplyte. If you are having a large wedding, this is an impressive venue, you will not be disappointed!

Now this was fun!

If you don't have any friends from the islands, I suggest you run out and get some fast. These people now how to enjoy and celebrate life. Good friend Trudy Young, a fellow makeup artist from our days at Saks, was born in Trinidad. Trudy now has a business, Carnival Faces that applies makeup and supplies costumes to the revelers in Trinidad as well as other islands and for Miami carnival in October. The women and men go to ultimate extremes to decorate themselves for the festivities. On Sunday, I was fortunate to take part in a preview fashion show of the costumes and helped to apply the makeup to a few girls and (lucky me!) all the men...

Two fun photoshoots

I had a great time recently on two very different photoshoots. The 1st was with photographer Richard Miller (http://www.rmillerphoto.com/) at his studio home with actress Danielle Kasen. Danielle does stand up, acting, dancing and singing and is now making her way in her new home in LA. She's a funny gal so Richard did a lifestyle shoot with standard beauty makeup and the other fun shoot played with Danielle's comic side...

My 2nd shoot took place in a studio with my new friends at Catchlight and model Diane Mooney. There were a number of photographer's and I hope to post more shots but I'm happy to be seen working in one picture by David Arango.
